Do you have glazing anxiety? Are you so paralysed with glazing fear that you stare at your bisque for ages, afraid of wrecking all your hard work? Don’t worry, Adele is here to help you. This workshop will help you gain confidence in brushing, dipping and pouring glazes. Adele will show you her expert tips for glaze application, how to safely mix powder glazes, and what to do if it all goes pear shaped.
Included in the workshop is a tour of the NPS store where you will get to choose a powdered glaze to work with and take home after the session. You will also learn about clay compatibility and take a tour of the NPS kilns to discover everything you need to know about firing temperatures. Adele will also bring in her special “Tools of the Trade” and you will get a chance to practice glazing with bisque test tiles and two bisque ware bowls. We will then fired your pieces for you, ready to collect in 1-2 weeks.
All glaze materials, tools, and firing is included - no hidden costs.
*Workshops are for adults aged 18+ only. Teenagers aged 11+ may attend if they are booked in with a participating adult. Participants who do not the minimum age requirements will not be permitted to take part in the class and no refunds are available on the day.
**Accessibility Note: This class is held in our upstairs studio which is only accessible by two flights of stairs.
