MG420 Electric Shino is a midfire brush-on glaze that brings shino character into an electric kiln - the warm, broken, variegated surface traditionally associated with gas and wood firing, formulated to develop reliably in an electric firing at Cone 6.

Opaque with a gloss finish, it breaks over rims, edges and texture and pools deeper in recesses, so it rewards form: throw a piece with a defined shoulder or carved detail and the glaze will show it. Fires 1190°C–1220°C (midfire). The sample shown is brushed on Cone 6 White clay (C6W) and fired to 1200°C — it will read differently over a speckled or dark body, so test on the clay you actually use.

  • Opaque and Gloss finish
  • Firing temperature: Midfire 1190°C - 1220°C
  • Image shows brush-on glaze on Cone 6 White Clay (C6W) and fired to 1200ºC
  • Proudly Australian Made

Please test all products to ensure suitability for your requirements as glaze application, clay type, firing atmosphere and glaze flow can vary greatly.
