MG144 White Pearl is a midfire brush-on glaze with a soft pearlescent white finish - an opaque satin surface with a subtle sheen that catches the light rather than reflecting it flatly like a gloss.
The pearlescent quality comes through most on curved forms and thrown work, where the satin surface shifts gently across the piece. It is a good choice when you want a white that has some life in it - bowls, vases, lidded forms, anything where a plain gloss white would look clinical.
Opaque and satin, firing 1190°C–1220°C in the midfire range. The sample shown is brushed on Cone 6 White clay and fired to 1200°C; over a speckled or dark body the white will read cooler and the speckle may show through a thin application.
