Welcome to the wonderful world of glazing! Our course is the perfect place to start your journey to making your own stoneware glazes from dry ingredients.
In this six-week course (one 2.5 hour class per week) you will be introduced to the basics of glaze theory and learn to develop a range of stoneware glazes. You will explore glaze composition, how to handle raw materials with safe studio practices, and working from recipes. Learn how to introduce colour, improve glaze application, troubleshoot common glaze problems and much more. At the end of the course you will have your very own fired test tiles and mixed glazes to take home and use on your next projects.
This course is suitable for beginner to intermediate students - no previous experience is required. Each class will have a maximum of 10 students. We can't wait to welcome you to the studio!
