6-week Decorating Pottery Course

This six week course will take your decorating skills to the next level! This class is perfect for both newer potters who want to explore how to create unique pieces through surface decoration, and more experienced hand builders or wheel throwers looking to extend their skills. 

Decorating will give you an introduction to staining clay and how to use it, including a taste of making canes for nerikomi, lamination and marbling. You'll also explore dimensional surface techniques such as water etching and sgraffito. Get ready to give your pottery a whole new look!

In this course you will learn how to:

• Stain clay 
• Make nerikomi canes 
• Decorate with stained clay
• Marble clay
• Water etching technique
• Sgraffito technique

Please note this isn't a dedicated nerikomi course, you will be getting a small taste of the technique and making a little dish or test tile.

Each class will have a maximum of 10 students.  We can't wait to welcome you to the studio!
