Thursday 20th September 6.00-8.30 (2.5 hours)
Demystify working with glazes in this informative workshop.
This 2.5 hour workshop will educate participants in the basics of glaze application so that successful results can be achieved.
This workshop is suitable for beginners, for makers wanting to troubleshoot an ongoing glaze problem or for those wanting to take the plunge from brush on to dip glaze with some guidance.
Glazing 101 is also suitable for teachers that use our products in their schools who want to further their knowledge.
This workshop does not focus on decorative techniques, but focuses in the application of a glaze as part of the decoration or protection of a piece.
This course is a suitable introduction to the Surface Safari and Glaze and Kiln Technology courses offered at NPS.
Please note: If desired and if time allows, participants will have the opportunity to practice dipping, pouring and brushing with bisque ware with glaze provided by NPS. Glazed pieces will not fired, the glazing process will be for experience and discussion only.
