Try The Wheel (2.5 hour duration) $80
Experience the thrill of wheel thrown pottery. Attend solo, or book in a group of friends and get ready to make some mess.
This 2.5 hour session will show you how to tame the clay! Centre a ball of clay on the wheel in motion, and form a cylinder or bowl, or a wonky dish. Our experienced tutors will guide participants through the basics of throwing small forms. Students will choose one of the works created during the session to have glazed and fired. The work will be ready for collection 2-3 weeks after class.
The workshop is a great way to get a feel for clay, providing the opportunity to try out the age-old-technique of forming pots - either as a test run to undertaking a 6 week course, or as a few hours of fun with friends.
This workshop includes all materials, and the glazing and firing of one work created. This includes two firings (bisque and glaze) and glazing (as a group, students can choose two stoneware glazes) by our technician. NPS staff will email students when work is ready for collection.
Included in this workshop is the opportunity for meal and glass of wine after class at our wonderful neighbours Temple Brewery with a discounted meal and drink voucher.
Buff stoneware clay is used in this workshop. Try The Wheel will have a maximum of 10 participants.
This class is not refundable or transferable.
These workshops are aimed at adults, the minimum age is 18 years old.
Please bring along your own towel and apron to the workshop, wheel throwing can be messy!
