If you need a hard line, want to write text or are after a more painterly effect on your work Underglazes might be the answer. Underglazes can be mixed similarly to paint and can be applied to bisque or greenware. Just like Northcotes glazes our Underglaze colour range is all made here in East Brunswick.

The majority of our underglazes can be fired to Stoneware temperatures, please check product descriptions for more information. Underglazes will need to be glazed over if firing to Earthenware or Midfire temperatures, but at Stoneware they will vitrify in the clay. Any functional work should be glazed on the surface where food will touch.
